Young Dhammika players shine at the Koshinkan Cup

Just a few days after the Regio Cup Nord in Eppingen, three children from our junior section competed in the 2023 Koshinkan Cup in Villingen-Schwenningen: Lenox S., who trains at the Dhammika Karate-do Dojo in Abstatt, and the de S. brothers, Luke and Leon, who train at the ‘Dhammika’ Karate section of SVGG Hirschlanden-Schöckingen.

All three competed in both the kata and the kumite disciplines at the Koshinkan Cup, impressing with their outstanding performances. Lenox performed exceptionally well in the ‘Pupil A, Male Above 6th Kyu’ kata category, making it to the final. Unfortunately, he lost to his opponent in the final by a narrow margin. Nevertheless, he was delighted to finish second overall.

There was also reason to celebrate for brothers Luke and Leon. Luke achieved an excellent third place in the ‘children male’ kata discipline via the consolation round. His older brother Leon also secured a place on the kata podium. He took second place in the ‘Pupils A, Kata Male Up To 6th Kyu’ age group. He also secured a place on the podium in the +45 kg kumite discipline.

Kata
🥈 Lenox (student A, male above 6th kyu)
🥈 Leon (student A, male up to 6th kyu)
🥉 Luke (children, male)

Kumite
🥉 Leon (student A, male up to 6th kyu, +45 kg)

We would like to congratulate all the young athletes on their great successes.
