Even though the past few months have been challenging for all of us, and online training could not fully replace training together, we at the Japan Karate-Do Dhammika-Ha Shito-Ryu Kai have still managed to rise to the challenge of holding a kyu grading just six weeks after resuming regular training. Last Saturday, thirty karatekas gathered at the Schozachtalhalle in Ilsfeld to take their belt examination under the watchful eyes of examiners Shihan Athula Minithanthri and Jutta Fojkar (both A examiners), as well as Jürgen Schwetz and Melika Cakrak (both B examiners). After a joint warm-up, all of the candidates successfully completed the challenging examination programme and were delighted to receive their new belt grades at the end.

The following day, in consultation with the DKV (German Karate Association), it was possible to reschedule the DAN examination that had been cancelled last year due to the restrictions imposed by the Coronavirus pandemic. Although fewer candidates than usual took on the high demands of the examination, they too had every reason to be happy. All four candidates passed their DAN examinations thanks to their impressive performances.

Congratulations to all examinees who passed their exams!
