Although fewer than usual took the demanding Shito-Ryu DAN examination in the first session of the year, all four candidates had reason to celebrate. All four passed their Shito-Ryu DAN examination.
Examiners Shihan Athula and Sensei Jutta were delighted that all of the candidates were young women. The fact that all four karatekas had passed the exam after weeks and months of intensive preparation made the two examiners particularly happy.
