Report on the German Championships for Kids & Cadets in Ludwigsburg
On the 2nd of November the German Championships for Cadets took place in the Rundsporthalle in Ludwigsburg. Luke d. S. and Emilian W., two young talents of the Dhammika Karate-Do competition team, qualified for the Kata discipline due to their placings at the KVBW State Championships for Kids & Cadets.
Starting in Pool 4, Emilian faced a very strong opponent in the first round. Although he showed a great performance and received high scores, it was unfortunately not enough for him to win. Things went a little better for Luke. In Pool 3 he won the first round with a very good Kata performance, but faced last year’s German champion in the second round and unfortunately lost to him. However, as his opponent went on to win the other rounds and reached the final again, Luke was given the chance to fight in the repechage rounds. Again, he put on a great performance in the first repechage round with his Kata Pachu, but unfortunately lost narrowly.
Even though it wasn’t enough for a placement, both athletes showed their fighting spirit on this Saturday and gave great performances at their first German Championships.
