Successful 10th Dhammika Kids Cup 2024

The 10th Dhammika Kids Cup took place on 9 March in the Langhanssporthalle in Beilstein. The Dhammika Kids Cup is an internal association tournament. More than 60 children from nine Dhammika karate dojos including DKD Amorbach in Bavaria, took up the challenge and put their skills to the test during the tournament.

As is traditional, the tournament began with all karatekas bowing to the judges and audience. After a short welcome by the founder Shihan A. Minithanthri, the competition was opened. Children aged 6 to 14 took part in kata, kumite and kobodu in 17 categories. They trained hard for weeks for this day. Parents were on the edge of their seats, some just as excited as their children. For many it was their first karate tournament, so they were able to gain new and exciting experiences. At the final award ceremony, the winners were smiling as they received their trophies, medals and certificates. All the other participants also received medals and certificates, because every participant was a winner that day.

After the tournament, we saw the smiles of all the karatekas and also the happy faces of their families. It was hard work for all the coaches, helpers and judges of our Dhammika family, but the main goal was to motivate the children and give them self-confidence. But at the end of the tournament, we were all happy about the successful day.
